We are getting a dozen of these at work in the next two weeks. The guys just did 27 Explorers. CATS (Charlotte Area Transit System) is upgrading their vanpool from 2010 Express and Caravans to these and the Explorers.

What are you doing to the seats? Vomit-proof vinyl? I’m guessing they aren’t going to pony up for black leather with red diamond stitching.

The van pools work differently I think. Commuters join a dedicated Monday-Friday route and meet up at a dedicated location then they drive themselves. The cost per personis less than using your own car but more than pays for the fleet purchase and fuel, etc. Plus going from 9-12 mpg in the Express to 15-17 in the Transit will help the city recoup costs.
